Summer is here. The grills are out, vacations are booked, and your routine?
Well… that’s the first thing to get tossed out the window.
I see it every year — people hit June with momentum, feeling good, seeing progress… and then slowly slide back into old habits because “life gets busy.”
Cookouts, weekend trips, social events — it all adds up.
But here’s the truth:
👉 It’s not the summer that derails your progress. It’s the all-or-nothing mindset.
Let me explain.
The 3 Summer Traps I See Most Often:
1. “I’ll get back on track after vacation.”
This one’s sneaky.
You push pause, then vacation turns into another trip, then it’s the 4th of July, then a wedding, and suddenly it’s August and you feel like you’re starting over.
Instead: focus on consistency, not perfection. Even 2–3 solid workouts a week keeps momentum going.
2. “I don’t want to be that person who brings healthy food to the BBQ.”
Totally fair. You don’t need to be.
But you also don’t need to treat every summer party like it’s your last meal.
Enjoy yourself — just prioritize protein, stay hydrated, and don’t show up starving.
3. “Summer’s too busy to work out.”
I get it. But here’s a reframe:
You don’t need to work out more — just enough.
Even 15–20 minutes of movement a few times a week keeps your habits alive and your body feeling good.
Here’s What I Tell My Clients:
Don’t try to be perfect this summer. Aim to be consistent enough to stay in the game.
Because the truth is, the people who maintain their routines (even at 70%) through the summer are the ones who crush it come fall.
They don’t have to start over.
They don’t lose confidence.
They stay strong — physically and mentally.
And you can absolutely be one of those people.
If you’re struggling to stay on track right now — or just feel like your routine has been thrown off — I’ve got your back.
